Midland Association of Christian Home Educators, Inc. Midland, Texas

MACHE is organized by parents (just like you) committed to their children's education. Our purpose is to provide support and guidance to make you successful in raising your children in the admonition of the Lord. We provide you with advice on the "nuts and bolts" of training your children at home as well as clubs and activities to enhance your child's learning. Support includes:
  • Mutual encouragement, edification, and outreach in all areas of home schooling, including academic, spiritual, and emotional needs
  • Providing children with activities that offer social interaction, help build Godly character, and develop right attitudes toward authority, order and biblical truths
  • Ministering to families in their home life
  • Providing resources to assist families in spiritual, academic, and legal concerns

You will be provided with as much or as little assistance as you determine is necessary for your family. Please feel free to contact any board members at the numbers listed below with questions or comments you may have. We will be happy to help in any way we can. May God bless you in your desire to provide your children with Godly instruction.

MACHE is composed of local families including the surrounding cities (Big Spring, Wickett, Monahans, etc.)  We have several sports activities for the kids including basketball and track.

We participate in field trips throughout the "school" year.  We start the year off in August by traveling to Lubbock to visit the Science Spectrum.  Other field trips include the Sibley Nature Center, Fiddlestick Farm's Corn Maze, UTPB Library, Museum of the Southwest, Weather Station, Petroleum Museum, Science Extravaganza at Midland College, etc.  If a parent has an idea for a field trip, then that's great!  Contact the field trip coordinator to get it on the MACHE calendar.

We also have full group get-togethers, too!  We have the Back to School Picnic in August, the Thanksgiving Feast in November, the Valentine's Skating party in February, and the End of Year party in May.  This year we have Home School Hangouts on Fridays.  When the weather gets warmer we will probably go back to having Park Days where the kids can get together and play at Dennis the Menace Park in Midland on Fridays.

We do not have choir this year due to lack of a director, nor do we have a band.  Most families get private music lessons for their kids.  But if anyone would like to coordinate a band we are certainly open to it!  We also have Chess Club, Science Fair, Spelling Bee, family camping trips, prom, and graduation.  For the moms we have Scrapbooking and Mom's Night Out on occasion.  This is a partial list of activities which changes depending on the involvement of MACHE families.
